Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Hardware Engineer to join Imaging Defense, with expertise in FPGA design and optical sensor systems to join our engineering team. This role involves developing high-performance imaging solutions for daylight and IR sensors, working closely with cross-functional teams to bring advanced optical products from concept to production.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and validate FPGA-based systems for optical sensor applications (VHDL and Verilog).
- Implement and optimize image processing pipelines on FPGA platforms
- Interface with CMOS image sensors and related analog/digital components
- Develop high-speed interfaces (e.g., MIPI CSI-2, LVDS, USB3.2, SPI, I2C, PCIe)
- Collaborate with optics, firmware, and software teams to integrate complete imaging systems
- Perform board bring-up, debugging, and system-level validation
- Optimize system performance for latency, bandwidth, and power consumption
- Support prototype development and transition to mass production
- Document design specifications, test procedures, and validation results
Required Qualifications
- English fluency is a Must
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Strong experience with FPGA design (e.g., Xilinx or Intel/Altera)
- Proficiency in HDL languages (VHDL and Verilog/SystemVerilog)
- Experience with image sensors and optical systems
- Solid understanding of digital signal processing (DSP) fundamentals
- Experience with high-speed digital design and signal integrity
- Hands-on experience with lab equipment (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with image processing algorithms (HDR, noise reduction, color processing)
- Familiarity with embedded systems and SoC platforms (e.g., Zynq, SoC FPGA)
- Knowledge of optical systems (lenses, IR sensors, calibration techniques)
- Experience with machine vision or infrared imaging systems
- Understanding of thermal management and hardware reliability
- Experience with Python, C/C++ for test or embedded development
